Research Projects

Project:

Duration:
Project objective:
Optimization of conditions for the fermentation in a continuous arrangement utilizing cane molasses as the entering stock

10/2007 – 7/2008
Proposal to utilize Lentikats biotechnology for the production of liquor from the cane molasses at the existing distillery.
Project:

Duration:
Project objective:
Utilization of alternate substrates in the distillery

2/2008 – 4/2008
Initial testing and selection of the Lentikats biocatalyst for the ethanol fermentation of the alternate saccharidic substrates - concentrates of saccharose sugar from the cane. The goal is the selection and testing of suitable producer of ethanol (Z. mobilis, S. cerevisiae), activity determination and the ethanol yield.
Project:

Partner:
Duration:
Project objective:
Research and development of technological installation to produce ethanol utilizing immobilized bacteria Zymomonas mobilis

Chemcomex Praha, a.s.
3/2008 – 12/2008
Develop a research and development unit based on the findings from the solution of the project and from the research and development of the improved technological installation which would affect a decision of future investor regarding a start up of the production of ethanol from grout utilizing the immobilized Zymomonas mobilis bacteria technology during the glucose to ethanol conversion stage. From this standpoint then the direct goal is to develop the section of the apparatus where the glucose is converted into ethanol. The other important objective of the project is to solve the problem of massive release of the foam.

Project:

Project objective:

Production of biofuels of second generation utilizing renewable resources and their conversion into bioethanol by the optimization of the immobilized biocatalyst technology and equipment

 Chemcomex Praha, a.s.
1/2008 – 12/2011
Proposal of a technology for the production of butanol from the waste and renewable saccharidic resources utilizing the technology and equipment of the alcohol fermentation immobilized biocatalysts. The use of new technology with new types of biocatalysts will enable to effectively process in new bioreactors and technology assemblies at high butanol yield renewable resources and waste, such as grain, corn, molasses, straw and bran hydrolysate.
