Distilleries
LentiKat's a.s. has developed a new revolutionary technology for the production of bioethanol from sugar, starch or lignocellulosic feedstock using ethanol producing microorganisms (yeast, bacteria) or enzymes immobilised in porous polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel matrix. The immobilisation step leads not only to a high and stable concentration of biomass in the process, but it also allows full exploitation of the biomass lifetime by its repetitive use. This technology - Lentikats Biotechnology - can be efficiently used in hydrolytic or fermentation processes, either for an intensification of existing distilleries or it can be integrated into the design of new plants.
In comparison to other immobilisation techniques, Lentikats Biotechnology is characterised by a relatively simple production process under mild conditions. The immobilised biomass is therefore spared any excessive stress, retaining its high viability during the production process. The ethanol produced using Lentikats Biotechnology can be used as a fuel or for direct consumption in drinks and beverages. The application of this technology leads to a significant increase in ethanol yields and simultaneous reduction of operational and investment costs. Furthermore, minimum waste production and reduced energy demand radically improve the environmental footprint of the conventional ethanol production process. Fermentation processes based on Lentikats Biotechnology can be operated in the traditional batch as well as continuous process mode.
Our company provides comprehensive process efficiency guarantess with excellent customer service throughout the entire operation of the designed systems.
